{"id":73,"date":"2012-11-06T22:07:00","date_gmt":"2012-11-07T04:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.chrystalsander.com\/blog\/?p=73"},"modified":"2012-11-06T22:07:00","modified_gmt":"2012-11-07T04:07:00","slug":"election-day-bungie-vs-microsoft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chrystalsander.com\/blog\/?p=73","title":{"rendered":"Election Day :  Bungie vs Microsoft !"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Confetti. &nbsp;I felt so much glee as I hurried to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamestop.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GameStop<\/a> to get the latest edition of Halo that it felt as if I had confetti swirling in my dome. &nbsp;Unfortunately, by the time I had slapped down my chunk of cash, my little snow globe burst. <\/p>\n<p>Look at the photo below. &nbsp;From the left, you will see the previous two releases of Halo created by<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bungie.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Bungie<\/a>. &nbsp;On the far right, you will see today&#8217;s equivalently-priced release created by 343 Studios(aka Microsoft.) &nbsp;<em>Note that these are the special editions &#8212; as opposed to the standard product.<\/em>&nbsp; If you aren&#8217;t familiar with the saga, here is a summary of the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/seattletimes.com\/html\/businesstechnology\/2003928945_bungie06.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> corporate helldom<\/a>&nbsp;that resulted in the tiny packet.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-rkeQgUYgb0M\/UJnOSI7J1SI\/AAAAAAAABBQ\/QW-zZ_6v420\/s1600\/1352254747254.jpg\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" border=\"0\" height=\"269\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-rkeQgUYgb0M\/UJnOSI7J1SI\/AAAAAAAABBQ\/QW-zZ_6v420\/s320\/1352254747254.jpg\" width=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>So disappointing &#8230; I would defect to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oracle.com\/us\/corporate\/press\/018363\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oracle\/Java\/Sun Microsystems\/MySQL<\/a>\/ &#8230; or whoever they are this week but that probably would just be more of the same. &nbsp;Oh well, &nbsp;hopefully the actual game will still rock! &nbsp;\ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Confetti. &nbsp;I felt so much glee as I hurried to GameStop to get the latest edition of Halo that it felt as if I had confetti swirling in my dome. &nbsp;Unfortunately, by the time I had slapped down my chunk of cash, my little snow globe burst.
